Ask Jodie
Dear Jodie,
I saw this house on the internet the other day that I would like to look at as long as we could sell our house for around the same price. We would like to look at this weekend. The question is- should we? And, can we get the same price for our house? Jane
Dear Jane,
Hi- I found that this house closed in 2006. It is not on the internet right now under actives, so I will investigate… Curious and Curiouser. Now, that you are thinking about the market, I will send over some DEALS for you. There are quite a few out there to be had. O.K. Interest rates. Interest rates are still good however, the Jumbos ( $417,000 and up) are a little difficult due to the fact that the lenders are a little pickier. They are really looking at the person who is asking to borrow, and they are seriously considering the appraisals. As you know, here in Nashville appraisals have been more stringent over the past year anyway. Now, the banks are doubling their efforts to make sure that the house is not overpriced- we’ve seen what has happened in California, Florida, and, yes, even here in Nashville. Let’s go see the house, and, if you like it, we will work on the price. Do I think you could get a similar price on your house on your street? Absolutely- that is when location matters most of all!
Have a great day- Jodie
